Q: What is Organic?
A: Organic means produce and other organic ingredients in retail products are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modified organisms or ionizing radiation. Animals that produce meat, poultry, eggs and dairy products are not given antibiotics or growth hormones.
An organic production system is managed to respond to site-specific conditions by integrating cultural, biological and mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance and conserve biodiversity.
Organic herbs used in our bakes certified organic by QAI have been verified to meet strictly defined standards issued by national and international standards issuing bodies, such as the USDA, or other independent agencies. QAI is a USDA-accredited certifying agency, approved to provide certification to the national organic standards, under a federal regulation created by the USDA and administered by the National Organic Program (NOP). The USDA Organic Seal and the QAI mark both stand for assurance that a product has been verified as organic in compliance with the strict USDA federal regulations for organic.
Q: Why are your cookies so colourful, are you sure there are no coloring used?
A: Our cookies are rich and saturated in colour because little or no water is added. We harness the natural pigments found in fruits and vegetables to bring a burst of color to our cookies. Ingredients like beetroot, cranberry, carrots, and blueberries can lend their vibrant hues, creating a visually stunning array of options.
So, be assured your bunnies are getting wholesome, healthy and natural treats!
Q: Are oats safe for rabbits?
A: Oats can be fed to rabbits in moderation, but they should not be a significant part of their diet. While rabbits can enjoy small amounts of oats as treats, it’s important to consider a rabbit’s dietary needs and digestive health when introducing new foods.
Rabbits have a specialized digestive system that relies on a high-fiber, plant-based diet. Their primary food should consist of hay, fresh vegetables, and limited amounts of pellets specifically formulated for rabbits. These foods provide the necessary fiber, vitamins, and minerals for a rabbit’s overall health and digestive well-being.
Always introduce new foods gradually and monitor your rabbit’s reaction to ensure it doesn’t cause any digestive upsets.
It’s important to consult with a veterinarian who specializes in rabbit care for personalized advice regarding your rabbit’s diet and specific dietary requirements. They can provide guidance based on your rabbit’s age, health, and individual needs.
